- History
Founded in 2004, Farm Direct is a collaborative effort to link Los Angeles families with local food sources. The company was developed through the efforts of charter and public schools in the LA Unified School District. Community farmers 200 miles to the north of LA (Ventura county) reached out to LA city leaders to deliver fresh produce to school wellness programs. After many trials of improving food access to the inner-city, a solution was formed in Farm Direct, to establish a company to deliver directly from the farms to the inner-city of Los Angeles. Farm Direct has since assisted various community programs, including Farm-To-School, childhood obesity prevention, harvest-of-the-month, nutrition fairs, and event catering. - Regions
We serve communities within a 20 mile radius of Downtown Los Angeles. Select communities between Ventura county and Los Angeles are also eligible for delivery. - Services
- Produce Delivery We currently are closed to accepting new delivery customers. Please check back soon to see if your community is eligible for delivery.
- Website Design We regularly assist our partners and clients with web design services and other computer-related services. As an active member in the community, Farm Direct provides these services to strengthen other members in the network of businesses and organizations seeking to provide for a healthy LA.
